versatile, and rewarding to play, it's a dynamic addition to any musical genre you pursue!  Currently, violin lessons and fiddle lessons with Julian are available Monday-Friday in person at your residence or his, or online via video chat over Microsoft Teams.

Music lessons available by style:

-Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Irish Fiddle Lessons
-Beginning Classical Violin Lessons
-Beginning to Intermediate Old Time Fiddle Lessons
-Beginning to Intermediate Blues Violin Lessons
-Beginning to Intermediate Rock Violin Lessons

Julian also transcribes video game, movie, and TV themes for students excited to learn such tunes!

You can find further information on what to expect from the various music lessons offered under the section of the site titled Lesson Details, as well as exactly what you need to get started before your first music lesson if you are completely new to the violin.  Information about tuition rates and music lesson policies can be found in Services & Policies.   The Media section features videos of his playing, photos, and sheet music available to save or download for free.  If you'd like to know more of Julian Lambertson's story then check out his Biography.

Why invest in music lessons?
"I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the key to learning."  -Plato

Aside from the countless hours of entertainment learning the fiddle can provide, there are numerous additional benefits you may not have heard of.  Studying an instrument improves your memory, willpower, discipline, patience, focus, attention span, listening skills, hand-eye coordination, time-management, and your ability to work with a team.  People respect a passion for music, creating opportunities to meet other intriguing individuals.  Excel at it and you may find yourself traveling and being paid for gigs.  But most of all, learning a musical instrument bestows a deep sense of personal achievement and confidence as you persevere in its pursuit.

Where does Julian teach music lessons and what do I need to get started?

Lessons are available anywhere via the Microsoft Teams video chat program, which you can download for free here.   Live lessons are available in Ware, Massachusetts and within a 40 mile radius thereof.  Students taking lessons in person need a violin and, if not taking lessons at Julian's residence, a space to meet with minimum distractions.  Students taking music lessons online need a violin, a web camera, and a decent internet connection.  If you are completely new, this site's Lesson Details features an article on everything you need to get started beyond what's mentioned above.

Green String Music Lessons Teaching Philosophy

If you have patience and discipline, you can learn to play.

Each individual has a different way of learning, so your lessons will be personally tailored to your needs.

Learn tunes which provide a balance of enjoyment and challenge.

The way you practice determines how long your road to mastery becomes.  Go over techniques at the beginning of your practice sessions, slow down difficult passages while learning new tunes, and speed up in small increments when everything comes out smoothly.  Dedicate the time to getting everything right and your skill will soar.

When you are taught something you will receive a full explanation of how it helps you out.
Why?  Because knowing the reason something is important helps in remembering to implement it.
