Music Lesson Services & Policies
Tuition includes music lessons of the specified length of time, free sheet music for scales and exercises as well as some tunes, and permission to record each violin lesson or fiddle lesson you receive for your private use. Mp3 audio files of the tunes you learn will be made available upon request.
The first music lesson you invest in is just $24 for one hour, and there is no further commitment attached. After that continual music lessons are a flat monthly rate.
Flat Rate Music Tuition per Month
For the rates listed above an average of 4 lessons are given per month.
For students who take lessons of 45 minutes or longer rates are available for taking 3 lessons per month. And for advanced skill level students rates are also available for taking lessons every other week. Please inquire for details.
Payment is due in advance, by the start of your first music lesson each month.
Tuition is nonrefundable except in the rare event when your music teacher has to cancel a scheduled lesson, but there is an extremely flexible policy on making up any lessons you might miss. Please see the ‘Missed Lessons’ section below.
Having your music teacher drive to your residence to teach you has a small additional charge to cover travel expenses. Please inquire for details.
If you are aware of any special circumstances which would prevent you from attending music lessons (vacations for example) please contact your music teacher prior to paying tuition.
1) Online Options:
a) PayPal: You will receive an online invoice to your email address at the beginning of each month, and the listed amount is due before the start of your first lesson of the month. There will be a link in the email that takes you to a page which will give you the option to use either a credit card or your PayPal account. There is a small additional fee with this option, to cover the service fee PayPal charges.
b) Online Bill Pay: Your bank account should have an ‘online bill pay’ feature. You can pay in this way by adding your music teacher’s name and address (Julian Lambertson, 203 Oakapple Trail, Lake Helen, FL 32744). Your bank will send a check out on the scheduled date.
Important Note - You do NOT need to give your music teacher your bank account information to use this payment method.
2) In Person Options: Cash or checks are preferred. You may also choose the PayPal or Online Bill Pay options detailed above.
The listed prices for music lessons are in United States currency.
Life happens, and sometimes you might not be able to make it to a scheduled lesson. You may choose to reschedule that lesson to a time and date which is mutually convenient for you and your music teacher. This will usually result in you having two lessons within the space of a week.
You may also make up missed lessons in increments by increasing the time spent in attendance of other scheduled lessons, when mutually convenient. Your music teacher will track the amount of time left for full make up of the missed lesson.
When possible, please give 24 hour notice on any lesson you will have to reschedule.
If no notice is given before your lesson would have started (no call, no show) your lesson will not be made up.
If you are interested in rescheduling your lesson but cannot set a time and date when you give notification, you will be notified of available time slots as they crop up.
There is no expiration date for rescheduling missed lessons.
Lessons must be made up during a month that you have paid tuition.
In the event your music teacher has to cancel a scheduled lesson your options are:
1) Reschedule the lesson.
2) Receive a credit towards next month’s tuition equal to ¼ the cost of one month’s tuition.
3) Receive a refund equal to ¼ the cost of one month’s tuition.
Other Music Lesson Policies
Online Video Chat Lessons, Requirements: You will need a high speed internet connection, and a web camera. Most laptops come with a web cam built in, but if not then they can be acquired in your nearest electronics store or online starting at around 20 dollars.
Technical Difficulties: For music lessons that are being taught over the internet, it is possible that our connections will experience occasional interruptions. In such a case the length of time required to fix any issues will not be counted against the length of time of the lesson. If the issue is significant enough that it requires a rescheduling of the lesson, the length of time the lesson was short by will be credited toward future lessons.
Lesson Materials: Much of the sheet music, scales, and various exercises can simply be sent to you for free. In cases where you will be learning from specific books they can be obtained for you for the cost of the book plus any shipping and handling, with a receipt provided upon request. Payment for any investment such as this is added to the total for the next lesson. It is not required that you do this through Green String Music Lessons, it is simply a service of convenience offered.
Exactly what you will need in preparation for lessons will depend on what type of music you are studying as well as what skill level you are at, so any further details can be discussed with Julian prior to starting lessons.
